Continuing our look back at 2020, this month’s report features full-year Top 10 rankings for all seven verticals traditionally covered in our monthly Tribe Top 10s, along with analysis of standout brands and prominent trends on social. While 2020 was a rocky year for many brands (not to mention the world), numerous brands stepped up, with skincare and apparel posting particularly strong gains. From a surge in support for Black-owned haircare brands to luxury fashion’s adaptation to socially distanced events, 2020’s storylines were a reflection of the tumultuous year, while winning brands were those that adjusted most quickly to all the changes 2020 threw at them. Our investigation provides insights on not only the brands that best weathered the storm, but also the brands poised for a brighter 2021.
